The freestyle optimized Lib Tech TRS Snowboard 2013 is built for stability and forgiveness in your ride.  When you’re up on the mountain, that’s reliability you’ll be grateful to have, whether you’ve refined your taste and style toward this hardware’s unique strengths, or are just beginning as a boarder.  This article will go over those features that make this board unique and desirable for riders of all different levels and skill-sets.

This award winning board is especially suited to a couple different kinds of riders.  For beginners and intermediate level riders that are ready to see major improvement in their style and skill, the Lib Tech TRS Snowboard 2013 gives that capability.  Riders are able to take advantage of the stability and light design for its responsiveness on the runs.  They can also look forward to how suited the board is to performing tricks.  The next group of riders that will find the board particularly suited to them are rippers, finding their strengths augmented with hardware that seems built for them.

When you like to ride the powder, this board features the centered stance and rocker that make the run particularly enjoyable.  Depending on features of the different riders, this board is able to float well, and can turn even when the powder gets deep.  In addition, when you like to turn up the speed on your descents, the Lib Tech TRS Snowboard 2013 can deliver all the speed you want, short of independent propulsion.  With the right flex and construction base, the board is also ready for the park runs that you want to hit along the way.  This combined versatility is great when you want the freedom on your runs to explore and expand your different styles.  With the weight to give it good foundation strength, and the extreme ease with which the board turns and carves, it’s hard to go wrong when you are looking for something to last you a while.

Lib Tech Skate Banana 2009

Board Model and Year: Lib Tech Skate Banana 2009

Board Size: 156

Age: 18

Riding Style: all mt.

For four long years I rented snowboards at my local ski resort. Every time I got one of the resorts’ old battered boards, I would dream of owning my own board. Two years ago, my dreams came true. When my dad and I went to our local outdoor shop, it wasn’t the first board that caught my eye, but after talking to the employee that was helping us I knew it was the one I wanted. It was a LibTech SkateBanana.
The SkateBanana has two things that make it stick out from the other snowboards, unique Camber and edge. Its camber is something LibTech calls, “Banana Technology”. It is basically a reverse camber under your feet and then flattens out. This gives it a skate like feel (thus the name “SkateBanana”). On a typical snowboard edge there is only two points of contact with the snow. However, with LibTech’s Magne-Traction there are seven. On a normal snowboard the edge is a smooth curve. With the Magne-Traction the edge is “wavy” and that’s how they get the 7 points.
With Banana Technology and Magne-Traction, its performance is definitely a set ahead of the typical snowboard. It can go through powder with out bogging down and cut though ice and not slip. It has great control and pop. However, I have found that sometimes it gives too much. I think many snowboarders that are use to the looser feel of some snowboards would find this snowboard too stiff.
The best board to compared it to when it comes to unforgiving edges would be the Burton Custom X. Both boards have edges designed to be superior at turning and cutting through ice, which they do great. But this makes the edges easy to catch when riding in the parks.
The graphics are a little plan for LibTech, compare to some of their other boards like “Skunk Apes” and the Pro C2-BTX models. But the bright colors make up for it; my board is in blue and orange. The price isn’t too bad for a high-end snowboard, its currently about $350.00-400.00 for the 2009 model, compared to when I got it two years ago it was about $800.00.
Personally I love it. But it’s definitely not for everyone. It depends on what you like. But you get a good board for a reasonable price, even if is a little older, it still has cutting edge technology. Check it out.

P.S. this was done for my eng 112 class

The Lib Tech TRS C2 BTX is one of the best all mountain freestyle boards. Unlike marketing claims from other companies. The features on TRS are what they say it is. It has a lots of pop, it’s great for carving, jumps. It’s very responsive, magna traction edge hold on hard pack & ice is fantastic. It’s soft enough to butter around and hit the park. the banana is a really fun smooth riding board. i got it last season and got my first setup stolen because i didnt lock it up. SO GET SKI CHECK. but this board softness is amazing, but the pop is still great to still allow you to do the 30ft. kickers and tables. all around mountain shredder and recommended by almost everyone who rides one.

Lib Tech Skate Banana BTX 2010

The Lib Tech Skate Banana BTX  2010 snowboard is back and has already picked up two awards for the 2010 season; Snowboard-Mag 2010 Excellence in Board design and TransWorld Snowboarding 2010 Good Wood Test.  For those of you who have not rode a Lib Tech board, this is one you need to try.

libtech-skate-banana-btx-2010The 2010 Lib Tech Skate Banana BTX has the “Banana Tech”, which basically gives you a a ton of control and feel between your feet.  This snowboard rides catch-free and is loose even though you will notice that the tip and tail are pretty stiff.   I think a lot of the Jib riders are really going to love this board, as the stiff tip and tail are going to make pressing off the boxes and rails a lot easier and then the low spin weight of this Lib Tech board are going to make it a ton of fun.

Overall the Lib Tech Skate Banana BTX is going to make your 2010 season a ton of fun no matter if it is hitting the park, just ripping up the mountain or cruising in the powder as this board can do it all.

2009 Lib Tech Mc Kink BTX 153

By  Matt P

Board Model: Lib Tech Mc Kink BTX

Age: 27

Riding Style: All-Mountain

The 2009 Lib Tech Mc Kink is my favorite ride yet. The board is super light and can do it all… probably the closest board I have rode that is like a skateboard. I take the board all over the mountain and I have not seen a difference in performance whether I am in the park or the power.

Overall this is a sick board and I would recommend it to riders who love to do it all.

In the 20+ plus years riding and countless different snowboard brands that I’ve owned and ridin here in the northwest. My three favorite boards have been libs, Emma Peel 159,Pacifier 164, and my newest board the trs 162 magna. I could not believe the edge control of the magna traction, this size performs killer in the deep, feels light on the feet and is very stable at high speeds.Do yourself a favor and pick up a magna traction LIB, in what ever size you need. While your at it pick up some Burton Cartels, they are a perfect match.
